CaDA Bricks Sniper Rifle | C61010W / C81053W

Took me like 6.5h to build (im slow i think) and it was pretty fun to build! The ”how to build” book need more clear pictures and some were really small. Some colors of the bricks were wrong in the book.

The bolt can be pulled too far back though..

First let's talk about the good points. I bought the 98K variant and it is quite faithful to the original. The hardware used (shoulder strap and scope) is obviously of cheap quality but that is to be expected at this price point.

I know I ordered "without original box" but I didn't grasp what that truly meant - the pictures after all show it coming in a box. Unfortunately, it comes in a shipping box and which is very disappointing.

However, given that this is a 653 block set, unforgiveable is the build quality on the moving parts. The bolt is connected very flimsily to the bolt handle. It is simply one block with no reinforcement whatsoever. This means that when attempting to operate the bolt, the handle flexes significantly and I am concerned that with use it will snap off. Also with the flexion, it is extremely difficult to open and close the bolt the entire way making actual operation very difficult.

Also, and more alarmingly, on the 98K the connection between the buttstock and the rifle is via two channels of plastic bricks. Given the love and care given to the rest of the body, the fact that this section is hollow is really poor. It would have required just a few more bricks to make this section solid and fit the aesthetic of the rest of the gun. Also, this hollow nature means that connection is poor between the buttstock and the rifle meaning that when posing with the gun (especially if against the weight of gravity) the gun bends significantly here - it will be a significant issue if using it for cosplay.

The model looks realistic especially with the the rifle scope. Some steps of the model are difficulty. The shooting function works.
Bricks color and quality are

Good building experience! The bricks are good quality and easy to put together. I had some issues at Customs but the customer service replied very fast and resolved the problem in no time. Received the item within two weeks in Norway.

Is it for kids?

The building experience is very good, no missing pieces. Only have one mistake in the instruction book but should be easy to notice. Really liked this sniper. The scope even has a lighted red cross in it which is not necessary but fun to have.
