Very Enjoyable Build

This was one of the most enjoyable builds I've done in a long time. The kit comes in a beautiful box of heavy material. Bags are numbered One for the lower level and Two for the Upper level. My kit was complete and the pieces fit together well, for the most part, but nothing that couldn't be managed. Two issues I found with the build. First the instructions have you use a cap to mount the light boom to the power poll. The cap just isn't a good fit for the boom. If there is another cap with a larger hole...I missed it. I did see others having trouble with this same step. I used the little short peg instead of the cap and it fits perfectly and I had enough of them. Secondly, as others have mentioned, the power pole is pulled by the two black power lines and bends the pole and kinda ruins a very nice detail of the build. I fixed it, for the most part, by inserting a wire into both black power lines. I used the ground wire from an piece of romex I had and it fit perfectly. I was then able to bend the power lines in a bit and take some of the pressure of the pole. Not a perfect fix, but makes it look a lot better. Overall the kit is wonderful. Love all the details from the buns and vending machine to the little air conditioners on the exterior of the building. This was truly a wonderful design by Tong Xin Jun. I have already purchased the Coffee Shop and am looking forward to another enjoyable build. Thank you CaDA...more designs like this please. Cheers

Great promise, but slightly off

I love the design and the aesthetics. There is a lot of detail in places I wouldn't have expected, like the vending machine with an empty slot. I think some of overall construction steps could have used another pass. Things like the building sign are made in such a way that only 3 or 4 studs connect it to the building. The corners were also single stud pillars that felt either unsupported or were barely attached. The set feels like it could have benefited from being a few studs wider and a few studs deeper. There were unfortunately a few pieces missing from my set, mainly some of the smooth pieces used for the building exterior, so have some spare pieces around you can make use of. Overall, I do like the set and enjoyed building it. I would recommend it for a unique design not seen from other companies.

Great set overall

I enjoyed building this set. Lots of details make it fun. Steps are clear and easy to follow. As others noted, it can be difficult to determine darker colors of some pieces for a step. And although bags of bricks are numbered, there are only 1s and 2s. If you like to lay your bricks out before building, you’ll need plenty of room. Overall I’d recommend.

Love the detail

The most difficult thing in building this is telling the dark color parts apart from each other and whether or not it had a pip (bump) or not. Often skipped ahead a couple steps to compare colors.
A trick I used to place the stickers was cutting a piece of sticker backing and using it temporarily while positioning the sticker.

Wonderfut model!

One of the things I have worked and love it!

great set

the design of the build is fantastic, exe sandbox did an amazing job. the building experience was better than i expected. there were numbered bags, good instructions and a nice box. my only problem with set was the tolerances of some of the pieces. some pieces had trouble fitting together (the street light didn’t fit at all) and others were a little loose. overall i would recommend this set, it is definitely worth the price.

Simple to build, instructions are clear and looks really good without taking too much space.
A good choice if you have some experience on models of similar size.
Having a real size picture for the longer pieces in the manual would help even further, as they are easy to mix up without a scale of reference.

Nice set

I really enjoyed the build on this set, the only thing was I had to fabricate a way to hold the telephone pole in place as the wires made it bend.

Absolutely excellent.

There's not many offical lego sets that have fired that spark of joy in me. This set has. It's some how both detailed and understated. It's also the one everyone who visits gravitates to. It's just so beautiful weird yet elegant.

Buildings was a pleasure too. Only one section that I got stuck on when building the main white sign outlined with the black edge. Maybe it's obvious to most, but it was a building technique I haven't encountered before so I had to bank it to the end of the build and then double back for a retry.

I would have also preferred it if the bags we split into smaller sections for building. I like to build a bag at a time and doing the set in just two sections was a lot of bricks and more than I could fit into one session.

Overall though a very good build. Sold me on the coffee shop follow up.

Thankyou to all involved.
